Apps that received a new update are Talkback, Messages, Password Checkup, Google Maps, Google Assistant and Android Auto. In Messages, you’ll get the Schedule Messages feature that will allow you to set a time for delivering the message. On the other hand, you’ll be able to turn on Dark Mode in Google Maps as well. Both of these updates have started to roll out.
Another app update you’ll have is about Google Password. Now this autofill password tool will notify you if someone gets the password of your account and suggest you change it quickly. Note, these new app updates are available on several devices, so to use these features, you’ll have to check for the app update in the Play Store. Don’t fret, if the new App updates are not available for your device. Google is working on it, so try to check for updates every week. But if you want to know more about these new features, here’s the guide for you.
Password Checkup Works Across Several Android Apps
Google Password app can save your password and autofill it in Android apps and Google Chrome when required. Now along with these useful features, Password Manager will now alert you if someone tries to check or access your login credentials. If someone tries to do it, the app will notify you to set a new password.
This new feature is currently available for Android 9 or above devices. You can also check out the autofill service by Google from your device’s Settings. Move into System>Languages & Input>Advanced and press Autofill Service. Probably it will send you into the right tab, but it’s not certain because every Android device is slightly different. So in such cases, you can directly search for Autofill.
Turn on the Dark Mode in Google Maps
For the lovers of Dark Mode, Google has brought the long-awaited Dark Mode for Google Maps as well. Find the latest update of Google Maps on the Play Store to use this feature. The Dark Mode is now fully-fledged available for Google Maps. Before it was only available during the Navigation mode, but now that’s not the case. To access the Dark Mode, open Settings>Themes>Always in Dark Theme.
TalkBack is Now More Easier to Use
Google also released a major update for the TalkBack accessibility feature. For low vision and blind people, there are new navigation options, gestures, menus and voice feedback systems available. To access the new features, update the latest version of the app from Play Store.
Schedule Text Messages
Google Messages also received a new update, and if you’re not using it, then definitely you’ll start using it once you know how useful this new feature is. Google has added the schedule message feature that will help you to send a certain text at particular timing. By using this feature, you’ll be able to deliver your text message without even disturbing the receiver during the wrong timing. You can even cancel the scheduled message if you find something wrong in text or timing. To access this feature, instead of pressing the send button, you’ll have to hold the send button and set the text delivery timing in a small pop-up window.
Improved Google Assistant
Google Assistant is one of the best virtual assistants you can access, and now you can perform a few more tasks without touching your device. Indeed, you can make calls, create a reminder, set an alarm, but after the latest Google Assistant update, it will be able to do all these things without you touching your Android device. The Google assistant now even works while your device is locked. You simply need to say, “Hey Google, Create a Reminder” or “Hey Google, Play Music.”
Conclusion
Google is making big changes in its apps and adding more interesting features to make the user experience better. Apps like Google Messages are essential for everyone, and its new Schedule Message feature will help numerous users around the world to deliver text at the right time.
